What is A/B Testing?

A/B testing services, also referred to as split testing are a proven way to test pages or element variations and gather analytical data on how each variation performed. Then by using that data collected, you can decipher feedback and go on to make design and layout decisions and changes for the future.

How does A/B Work?

Let’s say for example you want to drive people to submit a form on your website, you could change the form placement on the page. Bringing the form up into view (above the fold) will get more eyes on it and in turn, could lead to more people using it. Or you could try breaking the form up into more manageable steps to increase visitor uptake for example. You can even try different styles, in terms of fonts, colours, and sizing, as well as more intuitive validation prompts and messaging.

Why Use A/B and Split Testing?

All of these little tweaks and changes will make a difference. But to know if it is a positive or negative change requires a form of measurement. That is where A/B testing comes in. It is not always a clear-cut decision because everyone is different and will use things in different ways. You could go with the majority of users or it may be that you offer different versions for different users, depending on their needs.

AB testing really answers a lot of questions on what people what from your website and how they need it delivered to them. Then this gives you the ability to get it to them in the simplest and most user-friendly way.

This type of split testing can be a great way to improve your return on investment (ROI) for advertising campaigns and convert leads. People often will spend all of their time refining ads and creative but will neglect the last step of the process. This is ultimately the most important one because it is where the user either completes the action or decides to drop out.
