Convert your old DVDs into digital files
DVD drives are becoming rare on modern laptops and desktop computers, so it is a good idea to convert your discs into digital files. If you have precious memories like weddings, christenings or birthdays on DVDs that you can no longer access it may be worth considering digitising them. Then you will be able to store them on your computer or in the cloud, so you will be able to access them anytime. Not only will it save you space, but it will also allow you to easily access them and even safely back them up in the cloud. Have a digital copy is a lot safer then storing them on a disc as you do not have the risk of damaging or losing the footage.
How does DVD to digital conversion work?
Below is a simple overview of how my DVD conversion process works.
Drop off or send me the DVD/s
(If you post them, make sure to do it on recorded delivery and package them well.)
I will digitise the discs
Footage wil be sent back via a secure link
The DVD/s can then be collected or posted back at an additional charge of £4.95
How much does it cost to create a digital file from a DVD?
I charge £99+VAT per disc and that is delivered as a digital file. If you need your DVD/s returned and do not provide a pre-paid envelope, this will cost extra to have them returned and it will also cost extra if you want the files added to physical media like a USB pen.
How do you supply the digital DVD file?
I generally deliver the footage as a digital video file that can be downloaded from the supplied link. Footage can be supplied on a USB pen for an additional £25+VAT. Unfortunately, I cannot accept USB pens supplied by clients for security reasons. If you want a link to watch your video at your leisure, this can be made available to stream on YouTube if requested.
Can you convert any DVD to a digital file?
Some DVDs may be too damaged to convert, this will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. I also cannot convert DVDs that are copyrighted as this would be against the law.
What else can you do to enhance the DVD footage?
I have a video enhancement service that can upscale older video to make it crisper to watch on larger modern screens. I can even offer additional video editing services should you wish to modernise the existing footage.
